The much-awaited film Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, has resumed shooting in Chennai today. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is a part of his cinematic universe that includes his previous films Maanagaram, Kaithi, Master, and Vikram. Leo boasts of an ensemble cast including Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mansoor Ali Khan others.
The latest buzz around the film is that Vijay Sethupathi, who played the villainous Santhanam in Vikram, will also be making a special appearance in Leo. According to sources, Lokesh Kanagaraj has requested three days of call sheet from Vijay Sethupathi for his voice-over work. The duo shares a great rapport after working together in Master and Vikram.
Vijay Sethupathi played the role of Santhanam, a drug lord and leader of the Vetti Vagaira gang, who was the main antagonist in Vikram. He was pitted against Kamal Haasan’s character, Agent Arun Kumar Vikram, a black-ops team commander. However, the character is depicted as dead. However, it is not clear whether he will be seen on screen or only heard as a narrator.
It is speculated that Santhanam’s character may have survived the events of Vikram and may have had a confrontation with Vijay’s character in Leo. Alternatively, he may only provide some background information or commentary on the plot of Leo.
Nonetheless, an official confirmation is not yet released. Either way, fans are excited to see the reunion of Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi after their blockbuster hit Master. Leo is produced by Seven Screen Studio with music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is expected to wrap up shooting by May and is slated for a grand release on October 19, 2023.
