Viral: Superstar Rajinikanth’s first look in ‘Lal Salaam’ sparks mixed reactions from fans

With the release of the first look from his upcoming film "Lal Salaam," directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, superstar Rajinikanth returns with a roar. The actor plays Moideen Bhai, a Rajinikanth is playing the role of a Muslim leader in the film, as per reports.

An image of him in a beige kurta, red hat, and sunglasses walks alongside the slogan "Moideen Bhai has arrived" on a poster. Some fans, however, have taken to social media to mock and criticize the film's creators for what they see as an unimpressive portrayal of the megastar in the poster.

They expressed their disappointment and dissatisfaction with the poster, saying that it does not match the expectations of Rajinikanth’s fans. Some even compared it to his previous films like ‘Kabali’ and ‘Kaala’, where he played similar roles. Few fans took to the core on their disappointment, and began to share their own dedicated fan made posters for their favorite icon.

On the other hand, some fans praised the poster and expressed their excitement to see Rajinikanth in a different avatar. They also appreciated Aishwarya Rajinikanth for her directorial comeback after seven years. They also lauded AR Rahman for composing the music for the film, marking his first-ever collaboration with Aishwarya.

‘Lal Salaam’ is a sports drama with political elements, starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles. The film is bankrolled by Lyca Productions and is scheduled to release by the end of this year.  Meanwhile the Superstar is busy with other project Jailer, an action-comedy directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.  The first look poster of Jailer was released on June 17, 2022. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander and is slated to release on August 10, 2023.
