Excitement is brewing in Kollywood as the makers of Maniratnam's epic magnum opus are reportedly planning to invite Thalapathy Vijay to the highly anticipated Ponniyin Selvan 2 audio launch. Sources suggest that the renowned actor is likely to attend the event, which is set to take place in Chennai later this month. The film is a sequel to Ponniyin Selvan: Part I released on 30th September, which was a blockbuster hit at the box office.

Sources also claims that the audio launch will be on March 29th, and by this weekend, the makers are expected to make the announcement. Vijay was reportedly Mani Ratnam’s first choice to play Vanthiyadevan in Ponniyin Selvan when he conceived the project in 2011. However, due to various reasons, Vijay could not be part of the film and Karthi stepped into his shoes.

And adding to this, Trisha as his co-star in his upcoming film Leo directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, where she plays Kundavai in Ponniyin Selvan 2 and has reunited with Vijay after 15 years. Summing up, as fans eagerly await more updates about the prospect of Vijay attending the audio launch which has only added to the excitement.

An official announcement about the audio launch is expected to be made this weekend, and few sources says that second single from the epic flick will be out before the audio launch event. The first single from the movie, "Aga Naga", was released on Monday evening to a rousing response from fans and critics alike. The cozy and soothing melodious track has already won hearts and is sure to be a chart-topper in the weeks to come.

With the film slated for release on April 28th, 2023, the anticipation surrounding the audio launch is at an all-time high. The music of the historical drama has been a major highlight, with the maestro A. R. Rahman composing it. The cinematography by Ravi Varman was a visual treat, while the editing by A. Sreekar Prasad and production design by Thota Tharani were evidenced a top-notch touch in first part.

The historical drama, which is based on the novel by Kalki Krishnamoorthy, features an ensemble cast of Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan and many others. Ponniyin Selvan 2 narrates the story of Arulmozhi Varman who becomes Rajaraja I, one of the greatest rulers of south India’s Chola empire. The film has been produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies.
