The Tamil cinema fans are a month ahead of witnessing a wave of euphoria as they would certainly have a whale of a time during the Pongal holidays in January 2023. For the first time in years, the movies of Kollywood's bigshots Vijay and Ajith are going to clash each other. Vijay starred 'Varisu' and Ajith starred 'Thunivu' have been slated for a theatrical release during the occasion of Pongal.
While both the movies are on their paced-up post production works, the makers of both the movies are yet to officially announce their release dates. From the store of Varisu, a distributor has on Wednesday released a new poster of Varisu with Vijay and announced that the movie will be getting released on January 12, 2023. However, there is no official announcement from the production house of Varisu - Sri Venkateswara Creations led by Tollywood producer Dil Raju.
As there has been on official update and with the distributor's poster going viral, we reached out to our reliable sources close to the movie team. As per our sources, we are told that Varisu will be hitting the screens on January 11 while Thunivu will be getting released on January 12. Varisu is directed by Tollywood filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally.
There has been much discussion regarding the release date of Vamshi Padipally's Varisu within the Telugu producers' council, and fans have been eagerly awaiting Pongal 2023. But the film's producer, Dil Raju confirmed the happy news that Varisu will have its release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi during Pongal or Sankaraarti festival.
Varisu's first single 'Ranjithame' got released recently and became a show stealer now the second song is expected to out soon, which features Silambarasan's vocal, as per speculating reports. Female lead has been played by Rashmika Mandanna while Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Sham, Sarathkumar, Meena, Sneha, Sangeeta, Samyukta, and Yogi Babu will play crucial roles. Thaman has composed the music and the film marks Vijay's maiden collaboration with Vamshi Paidipally, Thaman and Rashmika. While Palani Karthik has done cinematography, Praveen KL handled editing.
