Weeks after meeting the toppers of the classes 10 and 12 board exams of Tamil Nadu that has been scripted as an apparent display of his political aspirations, actor Vijay is all set to convene a big meeting with his outfit, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI), in Chennai on Tuesday - July 11. The meeting will be organized in Panaiyur on the outskirts of Chennai and would perhaps have a blend of discussion from politics to furthering his social outreach programmes.
According to our sources, Vijay will have a rendezvous with the functionaries of VMI at 9 am on Tuesday during which he would take stock of the outfit and would discuss the measures to strengthening it, as it has been speculated that the actor would enter politics ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly polls.
During the meeting, Vijay will also speak with the functionaries about how the event of felicitating the toppers was successful and will also speak with the outfit's incharge of each constituency. After the meeting, there will be a photo-op where the functionaries will rub shoulders with Vijay for a photo. As Vijay has announced his next move towards testing his political desire in a short time, his announcement about the meeting with the functionaries had drawn sharp traction.
Recently, after the toppers meet, it has been speculated that Vijay will take a hiatus from acting to concentrate on his political entry. The news about his hiatus had shocked the fans and it was reported that he had decided to take a break from acting for three years.
Though Vijay remains tightlipped about his political entry, his outfit is buidling a momentum for his political entry. Speculations are rife that Vijay will plunge into politics ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly polls. As a prelude to such speculations, Vijay has decided to take break from acting for three years and his decision has come as a big shock to his fans.
It has been reported that Vijay will finish two projects in his kitty after which he will take a break from cinema. Vijay is currently in the outing with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the movie 'Leo' that is all set to hit the screens this October. After Leo, Vijay will play the lead role in the flick directed by Venkat Prabhu and after completing this project, he will take a break from acting for three years and he will begin working on his politics.
