Viduthalai Part 1, the latest offering from acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran, is a gripping tale of a police officer who is caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a notorious rebel leader. Based on the short story Thunaivan by B. Jeyamohan, the film stars Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in stellar performances that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Now the exciting update is that the film sets its OTT release date. The film will start digital streaming by April 28th on Zee5. The film also boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajeev Menon and Chethan.

Its worth noting that the film's Associate director Jagadeesa Pandiyan in an interview, said that the film underwent 200 edits before it was released on the big screen, and that Vetrimaaran is still working on improving it for the OTT release, and it will be a different version of the film.

The movie opened in theatres all over the world on March 31, 2023.  The story sets on a police officer named Kumaresan is enlisted to track down and apprehend Perumal "Vaathiyaar," the leader of a separatist group. Peter Hein is the stunt director, while Velraj has done cinematography. Locations like Sathyamangalam, Sirumalai (near Dindigul), and Panrutty played important roles in the making of the film.

The film is produced by Elred Kumar under RS Infotainment banner and presented by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. The film has music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by Velraj. Viduthalai Part 2 is expected to be a grand spectacle with a whopping budget.
