TTV Dhinakaran announces his constituency...Sends a strong signal to ADMK MLAs! How it troubles ADMK?

Exactly one day after releasing the first set of candidates for the upcoming assembly polls, the AMMK has on Thursday unveiled the second set of candidates in which the party has named the candidates for 50 constituencies. The development has come when there were reports that AMMK had held talks with Vijayakanth's DMDK to form an alliance after the latter had quitted from the ADMK alliance over a dispute in seat-sharing.

The second list of AMMK includes TTV Dhinakaran and Rajavarman, who joined the party on Thursday morning. According to the list, party's General Secretary Dhinakaran will be contesting from Kovilpatti, Jayanthi Padmanabhan will be contesting from Gudiyatham, Muniasamy will be contesting from Ramanathapuram, Balakrishnan has been given a ticket to contest in Tirunelveli, and Godhandapani will be contesting from Thiruporur.

The second list of candidates includes David Annadurai - Thiruparankundram, Mariappan Kennady (Manamadurai), Karikalan (Tambaram), Velu. Karthikeyan (Thiruvaiyaru), Paraneeswaran (T Nagar, Chennai), Visalakshi (Tirupur South), Balasundaram (Villupuram), Rajavarman (Sattur), Pon. Raja (Ponneri), Elumalai (Poonammalee), Vedhachalam (Ambattur), Venkatachalam (Salem South), Rohini Krishnakumar (Kinathukadavu), Rajasekaran (Manachanallur), and Murugan (Mudhukulathur).

The list further includes Lucky Murugan (Maduravoyal), Dhakshnamoorthy (Madhavaram), Lakshminarayanan (Perambur), Rajendran (Chepauk- Triplicane), VD Sathya (Anaicut), Gnanasekar (Tirupathur), Ganeshakumar (Barkur), Maare Kavudu (Hosur), Varadharajan (Cheyyar), Gowtham Sagar (Gingee), Madheswaran (Omalur), Pookkadi Sekar (Edappadi), Saminathan (Paramathi Velur), Hemalatha (Tiruchengode), Selvam (Anthiyur), Kalaiselvan (Coonoor), R Jothimani (Palladam), Appadhurai (Coimbatore North), Ramuthevar (Dindigul), and Kamaraj (Mannargudi).

The final ten candidates in the second list include Sekar (Orathanadu), Therpoki Pandi (Karaikudi), Jayakumar (Andipatti), Muthusamy (Bodinayakkanur), Sangeethapriya Santhoshkumar (Srivilliputhur), Samikaalai (Sivakasi), VDN Ananth (Thiruvadanai), Seeni Selvi (Villathikulam), Senthil Murugan (Kanyakumari), and Roslin Amutharani (Nagercoil).

The second list has 50 candidates across the state and so far as of Thursday, AMMK had announced the candidates for 65 constituencies including 15 candidates who were announced on Wednesday as the first set of candidates. Notably, AMMK has awarded a ticket to the ADMK MLA who quitted the ruling party and joined AMMK on Thursday morning and he got an AMMK ticket to contest in the assembly polls on Tuesday evening.

Rajavarman has been serving as an ADMK MLA in the current assembly representing the Sattur constituency. However, the ADMK leadership had denied a ticket to Rajavarman to contest in the upcoming polls. He was expecting a prospect to contest again from Sattur but ADMK had removed him from the list and awarded the ticket to his rival Ravichandran. Expressing his disappointment, Rajavarman had ended his allegiance to ADMK and officially joined AMMK on Thursday morning.

Rajavarman met Dhinakaran in AMMK's office in Chennai and officially inducted him into the party. After becoming an AMMK member, Rajavarman had turned out to be a foe to Rajendra Balaji and ADMK as he vowed that his aim is to defeat ADMK in the polls.  He shifted his allegiance to VK Sasikala and strongly voiced against the ADMK leaders. While addressing the reporters, Rajavarman said that he had moved his nomination to AMMK to contest in Sattur and said that he joined AMMK with the full support and cooperation from my supporters.

He said, "I have come first and many will come and the Tamil Nadu people would teach a lesson to those (EPS and OPS) who betrayed Sasikala. I will contest if the General Secretary of AMMK (Dhinkaran) orders me to contest and our aim is to defeat the ADMK in all the seven constituencies in Virudhunagar district." Hours after his entry into the party, Dhinakaran provided Rajavarman a ticket to contest in Sattur for the AMMK party as the drama changed within a day. The political observers say that Dhinakaran had sent a strong signal to the ADMK members who were denied the ticket.

According to reports, ADMK's list had disappointed some of the current legislators as the leadership had rejected the candidacy for 41 sitting legislators to contest in the upcoming assembly polls. These legislators had expected a ticket to contest in the polls and they were shocked to know that they were denied the ticket to contest in the polls. As Rajavaram said that many will come out of ADMK, Dhinakaran had sent a signal to these legislators through Rajavarman that they will be offered a ticket after they join the party.

In a weapon to trouble ADMK, the political observers say that Dhinakaran will use Rajavarman to bring the legislators to the party after they were ignored a ticket from ADMK. He will convince that the legislators will be awarded the ticket from AMMK like how Rajavarman has got within a day. The political observers say that Dhinakaran hopes that many ADMK leaders would come to AMMK and that's the reason why Dhinakaran is keeping the seats free and not announcing the final list of candidates with the view that the ADMK legislators will join the party for getting a ticket to contest in the assembly polls.
