Christmas is coming early for the fans of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, as their much-awaited film Merry Christmas has been preponed by a week. The film, directed by the master of thrillers Sriram Raghavan, will now release on December 8, 2023, instead of December 15. This means that the film will avoid a clash with Sidharth Malhotra’s action drama Yodha, which is slated to release on the same date.

The film’s release date was shared by Vijay Sethupathi who took to X , who wrote, “Christmas comes even earlier this year!! Be ready to feel the chills and thrills of #SriramRaghavan's #MerryChristmas, now on 8th December, in cinema halls near you.” The film’s trailer is expected to release soon, along with the songs and posters. The film is produced by Ramesh Taurani and Ronnie Lahiri, and distributed by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

Merry Christmas is a bilingual saga that has been shot in two languages - Hindi and Tamil - with different supporting actors. The Hindi version of the film features actors like Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil version has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams in the same roles.

The film also has some exciting cameos by actors like Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte, who have previously worked with Raghavan in his acclaimed films like Andhadhun and Badlapur. Merry Christmas is a crime thriller that revolves around a mysterious murder that takes place on Christmas Eve.

The film marks the first collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif, who are known for their versatility and charisma. The film also marks Raghavan’s return to the big screen after a gap of five years, since his last film Andhadhun, which won him several awards and accolades.
