Moviebuffs are in for a treat as the sequel to the 2010 comedy hit Boss Engira Bhaskaran is all set to go on floors soon. The film, which will see the return of actors Arya and Santhanam under M. Rajesh’s direction, is said to begin shooting from September, 2023. An official confirmation on the same is however awaited.
Boss Engira Bhaskaran, which means Boss alias Bhaskaran, was a hilarious story of a jobless youth who falls in love with a teacher and tries to impress her with the help of his friend. The film was a huge blockbuster at the box office and received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film also starred Nayanthara as the female lead and had a memorable soundtrack by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
In an interview, Santhanam had revealed that he and Arya are in discussion with Rajesh to do Boss Engira Bhaskaran part-2 and that the director is working on the script. He also said that he is looking forward to working with Arya again as they share a great rapport on and off screen.
According to sources, the sequel will retain the same cast and crew, including Nayanthara, who is one of the most sought-after actresses in South Indian cinema. The film will also have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Sakthi Saravanan. The film will be produced by K.S. Sreenivasan under his banner Vasan Visual Ventures.
Santhanam, who is currently busy with DD Returns, where Arya lastly seen in Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam, and he will also to work with Pa. Ranjith for Sarpattai Parambarai 2, where Nayanthara to be seen next in Jawan, N75 with Jai, Iraivan, Wikki6 and The Test. Director Rajesh is currenly helming JR30 with Jayam Ravi. The official announcment is still yet to make further about this exciting project.
