The wait is finally over for the fans of the epic saga of the great king Chola's grandeur tale. The makers of the epic historical  film Ponniyin Selvan have announced that the official trailer and audio of the highly anticipated project will be launched on March 29, Wednesday, at 6 p.m. at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai.

Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies took to Twitter on Tuesday released a special glimpse video for the upcoming film's trailer. They shared the video by writing, "What happens #BehindTheScenes is what matters for what you see on the screen! Get a glimpse of what is to come in the #PS2Trailer! Releasing tomorrow! #PS2TrailerFromTomorrow #PS2 #PonniyinSelvan2 #ManiRatnam".

The one minute video gives an insight into the grandeur of the movie and the effort put in by the team to bring the story to life, and also giving viewers a glimpse at Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman from the recording sessions.  The video showcases some of the breathtaking visuals which has left the fans excited for the official trailer release, scheduled for tomorrow.

The magnum opus which is scheduled to hit the big screens on April 28. The Ponniyin Selvan sequel will conclude Mani Ratnam's retelling of celebrated writer Kalki Krishnamurthy's prolific novel of the same title, which has been a highly-revered book for the Tamil people for decades.

The buzz for PS: 2 is massive and promotions have already kicked off, with the makers releasing a few promos and the 'Aga Naga' song, which has since turned out to be a chart-topping hit. The upcoming film will see the star cast from the first installment reprising their roles and leading the path once again are 'Chiyaan' Vikram as Aditha Karikalan, Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman, Karthi as Vallavaraiyan Vanthiyadevan, Trisha as Kundavai, and Aishwarya Rai in dual roles as Nandini and Mandakini (Oomai Arasi).

Ponniyin Selvan: 2 also marks the return of the ensemble supporting cast featuring the likes of Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, R. Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Jayaram, Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu, Lal, Rahman, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Jayachitra, Vidya Subramanian, Mohan Raman, and Riyaz Khan.
