By releasing the first single, the makers of Viduthalai kick started to anticipate the fans for its film's debut. This Vetrimaran's directorial features the comedy actor Soori in a serious role for the first time, and this movie marked the first collaboration with Isaignani Ilayaraja. The latest word on the street garnered a major update on Thursday which relating to the movie's digital streaming.
While it was reported that Kalaignar TV has bagged the film's satellite rights, the post theatrical rights has been bagged by Zee5 as per sources. An official announcement is expected to be made soon. Actor Soori plays a police officer, Vijay Sethupathi's crucial presence on screen is sure to steal the show. Chetan, Prakash Raj, Kishore, Bhavani Sre, Rajiv Menon, and Gautham Vasudev Menon also starred in the film.
The film's cinematography has been handled by R Velraj and editing has been done by R Ramar. While Peter Hein has choreographed the stunt sequences, art direction is by Jacki. The distribution is being handled by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. Viduthalai is bankrolled by Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment and is slated to hit screens by the end of March 2023.
Vetrimaaran's next project, after Viduthalai, will feature Suriya working with him for the first time. The film is based on a novel by Tamil author CS Chellappa and the story centres on the ancient Jallikattu sport. The most recent rumour claims that Vetrimaran narrated a story to Junior NTR and the actor gave a positive nod. In an intriguing twist, the director plans to cast actor Dhanush in a pivotal role where the film will be released in two parts.
