Tamil cinema's iconic actor Vijay has celebrated his 49th birthday on Thursday - June 22, five days after meeting and felicitating the toppers of Classes 10 and 12 board exams in the state. During the meeting, Vijay seemed to be getting ready for what has been speculated from him for the past few years - his political entry. Leaving the stage during the meeting, Vijay left a message to the students and left a big hint about hjs political ideology.
In his message to the students, Vijay asked them to urge their parents not to get money for votes and he further asked the students to read about leaders like Ambedkar, Periyar, and Kamarajar. By stating that the students are the voters of tomorrow, the uber-actor set the stage for his political entry ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly polls in 2026.
Massive celebrations are typical across the state during Vijay's birthday as his outfit Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI) would organise welfare programmes, this time, the excitements and expectations from the fans over his political entry have doubled after his viral speech with the students. Several fans across the state had celebrated Vijay's 49th birthday on Thursday by presenting surprise gifts to the youngsters who are part of the VMI.
Based on his advice to the students, Vijay's fans in Coimbatore distributed books of Ambedkar, Periyar, and Kamarajar, during his birthday celebrations, to the youngsters who are part of the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. Besides, distributing the books, the fans have also presented gold rings to five new-born babies in Coimbatore.
The gold rings were presented to five new-born babies at the Madukkarai Government Hospital in the Kinathukadavu constituency of Coimbatore district. The fans had also provided breakfast to patients and visitors at the hospital as part of the actor's birthday celebrations. The Coimbatore district chief of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam said that Vijay's speech had sparked a passion for reading books among his fans and followers.
