T.R.Balu vs K.N.Nehru, the latest DMK fight!

Nearly a week after lowering the tensions that had erupted from the allied Congress party accusing DMK of violating coalition dharma in the state local body polls, the state opposition party DMK is now carpeting the power battle in its inner circle.

In the recently held executive committee meeting, the party's central leadership had shuffled the post of party's Principal Secretary, one of the important posts working close to the party's president and our sources reveal that the shuffling had brought huge upset for former Union Minister T.R.Baalu who was holding the post along with the post of party's parliamentary leader. Earlier, the sources had stated with conformity that T.R.Baalu would be replaced from secretary post.

After the conclusion of the executive committee meeting, the DMK's mouthpiece Murasoli carried the confirmation news that Trichy district secretary K.N.Nehru would be taking over Baalu as the party's principal secretary and our sources stated the initial developments as Nehru was picked to sail along Baalu in the same role as an additional in-charge but after Baalu asserted that the post must be enjoyed by a single person, he was removed from the role after which K.N.Nehru was elevated to one of the party's top roles as full-time Principal secretary. The sources had cited that the leadership has been discussing to award equivalent post to T.R.Baalu.

The elevation of K.N.Nehru has been described as the honor that was awarded for him by the president as he is one of the important party leaders who has been serving as the party's district secretary of Trichy for the past three decades in his forty years political career. He also served as a former minister in Karunanidhi's cabinet and he played a strong role in sweeping all the fourteen unions of Trichy in the recently concluded local body elections.

After having been appointed, Nehru met party's president Stalin and our sources reveal that during the meeting, Nehru asked Stalin not to unmap the party's two units that have been active in Trichy and with the view of retaining his stronghold in the district, he had recommended his closest aides to replace him as party's district secretary and while, on one hand, his political career was elevated, on the other hand, the Trichy DMK technology unit had spurred the controversy by airing the images of Nehru's and his brother's sons and welcoming them to the political grounds as Nehru's political heirs.
