Global messaging platform WhatsApp has announced that the application won't be supporting certain phones from November 1. Alarming an alert to the users, WhatsApp will stop supporting three iPhones and around 50 Android phones as these phone models have been using outdated applications and devices. The development has come when WhatsApp is ready to roll out its annual upgrade to its phone support.
Earlier, WhatsApp had released a list of devices that will become incompatible for running the application after November. The company had urged the people who have been using such devices to upgrade their device to a new one to retain their WhatsApp account. The list of devices includes iOS, Android, and other operating systems. It has been reported that regardless of the company, if your phone had become too old and fail to cope up with the latest update, you may end up losing WhatsApp from November, unless the device and the operating system are enhanced.
In order to redeem the messaging site, ensure your phone has the measure of supporting WhatsApp's annual upgrade. In terms of OS compatibility, WhatsApp has said that its app will only run on Android version 4.1 and newer from November 1. For iPhones, iOS 10 and newer versions will be supporting WhatsApp. Similarly, Kai OS 2.5.0 and newer, as well as Jiophone and JioPhone 2 will support WhatsApp after November 1.
WhatsApp had recommended its users to update their device or its operating system till the date to continue using the app's services. If you have smartphones without regular updations, you have to end up buying a new smartphone to enjoy the messaging services. Phones including iPhone 6, iPhone 6S plus, and iPhone SE will not be supported by WhatsApp from November 1. On the other hand, Android has a pile of phones from various companies, in which WhatsApp can't be supported, including seven Samsung phones - Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy SII, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Xcover 2, Galaxy Core, and Galaxy Ace 2. Four ZTE devices that will be losing WhatsApp include ZTE Grand S Flex, ZTE V956, Grand X Quad, and Grand Memo.
Several LG devices including Lucid 2, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II Dual, Optimus L5, Best L5 II, Optimus L7, Optimus L7 II Dual, Optimus F6, Optimus L4 II Dual, Optimus F3, Best L4 II, Optimus Nitro HD, and Optimus F3Q. Sony Xperia Miro, Xperia Neo L, and Xperia Arc S will also be outdated for WhatsApp after November 1. The company has advised the users who are using these devices to back up their data and to change such outdated models.
