Thalapathy 65...The long wait is over! Vijay's big surprise for his ardent fans!

After a long wait and massive expectations, amid surfaced with several speculations, it's now official as the ardent fans of Thalapathy Vijay stormed with a big announcement, making their wait worth it. Thalapathy 65 is getting ready to unfold and on Thursday, Sun Pictures officially announced that Thalapathy 65 will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, who rose to fame by directing Nayanthara in 'Kolamavu Kokila'. 

Vijay fans were fervently waiting for the update of Thalapathy's next after 'Master' and the long wait had stirred speculations and whistled the online race with some of the reputed directors on who will win the race in directing Vijay and amid such speculations, the fans were filled with the expectations for a surprise announcement. It's typical that the Tamil cinema industry will always witness the grounds of huge expectations on Vijay's next each and every time.   

The actor has already given surprise for his fans by accepting Atlee to direct him thrice and Lokesh Kanagaraj to direct him in the former's third movie. Vijay's next, tentatively named as Thalapathy 65, will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures and when AR Murugadoss was initially said to be directing Vijay 65, he was then stayed off from the movie due to an issue with Sun Pictures. 

Following the development, it was speculated that Magizh Thirumeni will be directing Vijay 65 and along with Magizh, reputed directors like Sudha Kongara and Nelson Dilipkumar have been speculated to be in the race of directing Vijay. Some reports also said that popular director SJ Suriya, who directed Vijay in 'Kushi' would be directing Vijay another time in Thalapathy 65. However, there was no official announcement from the makers about the director, and fans had got to wait for a long for his recently completed 'Master' and his next. 

The reports said that Nelson will likely miss a chance this time in directing Vijay as the growing director has already been directing Sivakarthikeyan starred 'Doctor' and it was less likely that Nelson would commence the shooting for Vijay as expected by the actor. However, clearing the clouds of speculations, Nelson Dilipkumar had finally won the race as it has now been confirmed that he would be directing Vijay in Thalapathy 65. 

Nelson will be directing Vijay for the first time and Vijay's back to back unification and giving chances to youngster has surprised many as he has been working with young directors for more than five years now and the current announcement has shown Vijay has planned to work with the youngsters in the future. Sun Pictures has on Thursday made the mega announcement about Thalapathy 65. Taking to Twitter, one of the reputed production companies said, "We are happy to announce Thalapathy Vijay's 'Thalapathy 65' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and music by Anirudh'. 

Sun Pictures had posted a video in which its Chief Executive Kalanithi Maran, Actor Vijay, and Nelson Dilipkumar were happily discussing the movie. In the video, Vijay was more stylish with a charming look and the fans had gone agog to see the actor after a long time. Following Sun Pictures, Nelson Dilipkumar had taken to Twitter and said, "Happy to announce my next film with Actor Vijay sir". Actor Sivakarthikeyan and Director Atlee had firstly congratulated Vijay and the director on their first project. 

Vijay is done with 'Master' and the movie is slated for release during Pongal 2021. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master is produced by Xavier Britto's XB Film Creators while Anirudh has composed music. The movie has roped in Vijay in the lead role while Malavika Mohanan, Vijay Sethupathi, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Gauri Kishan have done important roles. After the episodes of speculations over OTT release, the makers of Master had asserted that the movie will be released in theaters.
