While the fervent fans of Thalapathy Vijay have been eagerly waiting for the release of 'Master' to bring their incessant wait for the movie to an end, another surprise pack is waiting for them from Vijay's next project and the pack has been expected to get filled with reputed artists across and beyond Kollywood. 

Vijay's 'Master' is done and it has created a new history even before the release. 'Master' has been expected to hit the big screens on Pongal 2021 in what could become an exciting treat for Vijay fans and a significant breakthrough for Vijay and for the theaters in having a relishing resumption after the lockdown. While Master is slated for the release, many went abuzz on Vijay's next project. 

Speculations have been growing in Kollywood on the Thalapathy's next and fans will get a big surprise from the actor on knowing his next. Tamil cinema industry will always see the grounds of huge expectations on Vijay's next each and every time. The actor has already given surprise for his fans by accepting Atlee to direct him thrice and Lokesh Kanagaraj to direct him in the former's third movie. 

Vijay's next, tentatively named as Vijay 65, will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures and when AR Murugadoss was initially said to be directing Vijay 65, he was then stayed off from the movie due to an issue with Sun Pictures. Following the development, it was speculated that Magizh Thirumeni will be directing Vijay 65 and along with Magizh, reputed directors like Sudha Kongara and Nelson Dilipkumar have been speculated to be in the race of directing Vijay. 

However, the reports close to the developments say that two directors have high possibilities of directing Vijay 65 - one is 'Kolamavu Kokila' fame Nelson Dilipkumar, the other one would be a surprise for fans as the other director is 'Kushi' fame SJ Suriya. When it was said that Vijay had accepted the story of Nelson Dilipkumar, it was speculated that Nelson is the director of Vijay 65. Vijay is expecting for the next shoot from January 2021. 

However, since Nelson still has pending works in his next Sivarkarthikeyan starred 'Doctor', it was less likely that Nelson would commence the shooting for Vijay as expected by the actor. Following which, Nelson will likely miss a chance this time in directing Vijay as Thalapathy has accepted to work with SJ Suriya. SJ Suriya is well-known for directing Vijay in 'Kushi', which is one of the all-time hits of the actor through which both the actor and director had a breakthrough in the industry. 

The reports say that SJ Suriya has won the race in directing Vijay 65 and the shooting is expected to begin in January 2021. The official announcement regarding Thalapathy's next will be made soon. Meanwhile, some reports asserted that Nelson still has a chance of directing Vijay and the movie would be a mixture of comedy and action. 

Speculations have been stirring up in Kollywood that Nelson is in talks to bring a top Bollywood actor for the female lead, as Vijay's pair and a leading Bollywood artist would be roped in as the villain. Amid such developments, Vijay and his ardent fans are hoping to have a relishing new year through their much-awaited 'Master' and with speculations over Vijay 65, it's indeed that a big surprise is waiting for the fans in January next year.
