Target DMK - BJP's new agenda in Tamil Nadu!

Tamil Nadu ruling ADMK party and its ally, the Central ruling BJP have been gluing together to press and to reiterate their notions that the state opposition party DMK has been instigating the stir and the protests from the Muslim communities in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and fisheries minister Jayakumar blamed the DMK directly in the assembly for stimulating the protests.

Senior BJP leaders Pon Radhakrishnan and Ganesan have echoed ADMK's comments by accusing the DMK. The strong bonding voice from ADMK and BJP has an agenda behind it, political critics say and upon inquiring, they revealed that the BJP has been rolling out several agendas to diminish the DMK's hope of rising to power in 2021 legislative elections. They say that the BJP has been vying to either nest the state parties in its alliance or to prevent the state parties to get allied with the opposition Congress party. With this policy, the BJP had contested in 2019 Lok Sabha polls and attained huge victory. However, it descended from the victory in Tamil Nadu despite being allied with the ruling party.

With the motive of enhancing the stronghold in Tamil Nadu and to succeed in the 2021 elections, BJP has been targeting the opposition alliance in the state -importantly DMK. The Central ruling party has planned to take up the issues such as Stalin's arrest under Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) that had spurred the controversy recently and to strongly speak about the Murasoli land dispute that too was recently raised by ADMK's allied PMK party - both of these issues had a direct connection with DMK President Stalin and the BJP, by keeping these issues in limelight, believes that it would decrease the prospect of DMK's victory.

The other part of the agenda is to carpet Rajinikanth to the political grounds and by roping in Rajini, the BJP hopes to add more burden and barrier to DMK. The BJP has been attempting to fish the superstar to its ship thereby leading to form a new alliance -Rajini-PMK-BJP. Our sources say after understanding Delhi's plans, Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has recently directed the state intelligence unit to take up the survey across the state. The results from the survey had presented him with a setback as the survey had favored the DMK party in the 2021 elections. Following the survey, the Chief Minister had sent one of his closest aides to meet Rajinikanth last week to form a coalition in the elections to unleash tough fight for DMK.

Along with these BJP and ADMK's political agenda, the ruling government of Tamil Nadu has also been accelerating the government's mechanisms towards the people as some of the recent announcements including the entitlement of protected zone for Cauvery Delta region, food scheme for the school students and acquiring more investments towards the state have been proposed by the state to have a welcoming voice at the campaign trail and the sources stated that these implementations have been carried out by the advice of BJP with the view of lowering DMK's politics.

On the other hand, DMK President Stalin has been ratifying the agenda to counter the state and Central ruling parties during the elections. The opposition party is formulating its mechanisms to take the baton of power in 2021 as the party was not in power for a decade. Stalin has been carrying out campaigns like Nammaku Naame, rural level meetings and the recent anti-CAA campaign against the BJP in which the party claimed that it had obtained over two crore signatures against the CAA, NRC, and NPR in Tamil Nadu and further to that, the party has recently signed with Indian political strategist Prashant Kishor to frame the party's policies in 2021 elections.  While addressing the district secretaries meet on February 17th in Chennai, Stalin stated that Prashant Kishor would only be formulating the policies and strategies and he would never intervene in Dravidian ideology and added that the party cadres would be working with Kishor during the 2021 elections.

The developments have shown that the policial parties in the state have been pacing up their political race and their agenda as the relay is on for the rivals towards taking up the baton of power in the 2021 elections.
