Biplab Kumar Deb had become the Chief Minister in 2018 after ousting the 25-year-old rule of the Communist Party of India.

Arun Chandra Bhowmik has defended his remarks and claimed that he had used the Taliban as an example to justify how the party should counter the TMC seriously.

The incident has happened on Thursday near the Chief Minister's official residence and the police had on Saturday affirmed that the men were arrested.
