In the wake of an unabated downpour, the scale of rainfall that was recorded in some areas of these districts was as double as to what Chennai and its neighbours recorded earlier this month during the landfall of Cyclone Michaung. 

The shocking incident has happened in Pulianthope in the outskirts of the city and after it triggered an outcry, the government reacted by suspending the staff behind that incident.

The flood had inundated several areas and brought a bustling city to a halt, with no electricity and communication channels for a few days. 

Others defended Ajith and said that he did a noble deed and should not be criticized. Some also pointed out that he should ask to our Government.

Many areas were cut off from the rest of the city, and thousands of people were stranded in their homes without food, water, or basic amenities.

" I don't have unreasonable expectations, but things can be a lot different than it is now."

He also helped them with the travel arrangements and ensured that they were safe and comfortable.

Many low-lying areas have been inundated, and thousands of people have been evacuated to safer places.

The IMD has also advised fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry.

The regional centre of IMD in Chennai had given a staunch instruction to the people not to venture out of the homes on December 4 and 5 unless there is an emergency.
