Following the incident, Munusamy, the Chief Education Officer of Vellore has on Thursday ordered the suspension of the headmaster of the concerned school.

The apex court has noted that the vaccine mandates imposed by various state governments and other authorities in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic are not appropriate.

The IIT Madras cluster has been reporting more cases. The total case count on the IIT campus has increased to 171.

Though India and Tamil Nadu have recorded a remarkable vaccination rate, such speculations have become the talk of the town.

On Monday, Radhakrishnan, along with Chennai Zonal medical officer Dr Alby, had visited the institute and interacted with the students and the faculty. 

On the other hand, the state government has announced that a penalty would be imposed for those who are found not wearing masks in public places.

The Tamil Nadu Health Department has now brought back the mask mandate in the state and that the people who fail to wear masks would be fined.

The prestigious campus has shown a sign of cluster as the cases are feared to go up with more testing underway following the development. 

As the cases are increasing across India, Tamil Nadu is also necessitating the people to adhere to the basic Covid protocol. 

He said that Chief Minister MK Stalin will on April 14 be inaugurating 2,096 new upgraded beds set up at a cost of Rs 365 crore for critical and intensive care units in state-run facilities.
