Annamalai is now receiving a crucial boost to his leadership, thanks to the rivaling ADMK leaders Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) and O Panneerselvam (OPS), who are seeking BJP's support in the bypoll. 

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai has come up with a plan to conduct a yatra across the state like how Rahul Gandhi organized a nationwide rally. 

The bypoll was necessitated after the shocking demise of Erode East Congress MLA Thirumahan Everaa who died on January 4 at the age of 46 due to heart attack.

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai, who travelled with Surya in the same flight, has now staged a different story that Surya didn't open the emergency door. 

Over a month after the incident, the DGCA has on Tuesday launched a probe into the matter and the next day, Union Aviation Minister Scindia came in support of Tejasvi Surya.
