Actor Vijay is preparing to set his roads for politics in Tamil Nadu ahead of the state's assembly polls in 2026. The actor, through his outfit Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI), has been carrying out several social outreach programmes across the state. With the view of strengthening his political entry, Vijay has planned to take a break from acting.
According to reports, Vijay has decided to take a break from acting for three years to concentrate on his politics. Recently, Vijay has met the toppers of the Classes 10 and 12 board exams in Tamil Nadu and felicitated them in the presence of their parents. In what has become a widely-covered event, Vijay delivered a speech to the students that blended with his political aspirations.
By asking the students to study about the leaders like Ambedkar, Periyar, and Kamarajar, Vijay urged them not to seek money for the votes. The actor has also highlighted that the students are the voters of tomorrow and asked them to advise their parents not to get money for votes. His speech went viral and sparked a debate about his political entry.
Though Vijay remains tightlipped about his political entry, his outfit is buidling a momentum for his political entry. Speculations are rife that Vijay will plunge into politics ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly polls. As a prelude to such speculations, Vijay has now decided to take break from acting for three years and his decision has come as a big shock to his fans.
It has been reported that Vijay will finish two projects in his kitty after which he will take a break from cinema. Vijay is currently in the outing with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the movie 'Leo' that is all set to hit the screens this October. After Leo, Vijay will play the lead role in the flick directed by Venkat Prabhu and after completing this project, he will take a break from acting for three years and he will begin working on his politics.
