Although ADMK's demised leader Jayalalithaa's closest aide Sasikala has been held up at Parappana Agrahara Central jail in Bangalore for the more than two years after having been convicted over disproportionate assets case, the Tamil Nadu politics, importantly the ruling faction, has been revolving around her, either with the anticipation that she will be acquitted from the prison soon or with the political spotlight that has been gaining by her family members including the rivalry that persists between Dhivakaran and Dhinakaran.

One of the recent testaments that brought her name and the feud between Divakaran and Dhinakaran is the family wedding of Divakaran that was boycotted by Sasikala and the supporters from Dhinakaran's faction. On March 5th, 2020, Divakaran's son Jayanand has married Jaya, the daughter of Baskaran, who is the foster son of Jayalalithaa. The wedding ceremony was organized near Divakaran's residence in Sundarakottai in Thiruvarur district and the family members had expected that Sasikala would attend the marriage by getting parole from the prison authorities. 

However, Sasikala hasn't applied for parole and boycotted the wedding of her own brother's son. Our sources say that Divakaran was informed that Sasikala won't be attending the wedding as, on behalf of Sasikala's family, only one member had attended the wedding. 

The entire family has attended the wedding for Divakaran's daughter but for his son's wedding, most of the members didn't turn up. Divakaran's family members expected that Dhinakaran and his supporters would attend the wedding by breaking the lines of the feud but the sources stated that Dhinakaran has already directed his family members and party cadres not to attend the wedding.

The mass absence of family members has upset Divakaran and on the other hand, the presence of thousands of people from the nearby villages had solaced him. The wedding ceremony had witnessed the presence of DMK MLAs of Mannargudi and Orathanadu constituencies and some of the members from ADMK and Dhinakaran's AMMK had shown their heads and former IPS officer Pon. Manickavel has also attended the wedding. One of the supporters of Divakaran said that Divakaran has forgotten the difference ad the feud but Dhinakaran hasn't and that's why he has asked his supporters not to attend the wedding. On the same day, the ADMK members had gathered for the wedding of sitting minister Kamaraj's relative which was organized in Tanjore district.
