Ponniyin Selvan 2 becomes the first South Indian movie to introduce this! Makers share the exciting news for the fans...

Ponniyin Selvan 2 promises to be a feast for the senses, as the makers of the Maniratnam's magnum opus dropped a new enticing update on Tuesday that the Ponniyin Selvan 2 is the first film from South Indian cinema to be released in 4DX technology. Moviegoers are in for a treat as they step into a new sensory world to witness the magic of this epic tale like never before.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Lyca Productions wrote, "#PS2 will be the 1st South Indian Movie to release in #4DX  Watch it in your nearest #4DXCinemas to have a wholesome experience of the world of #PonniyinSelvan  #PS2 in cinemas worldwide from 28th April in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada!".   The movie is available in 4DX cinemas across India and overseas. The movie fans can witness the grandeur and glory of the Chola empire with immersive effects that will make them feel like they are part of the movie.

4DX technology is an advanced cinematic experience that goes beyond the traditional movie-watching experience.  It is a multi-sensory technology that aims to fully immerse viewers into the movie's world by enhancing their senses of sight, sound, touch, smell, and motion.

The 4DX technology adds additional special effects to the movie-watching experience, such as moving seats, water spray, wind, fog, scents, and lighting effects. The technology utilizes motion sensors that are synchronized with the movie's action to produce realistic motion and vibration in the seats.

The movie, which is based on the classic novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, depicts the life and times of the Chola prince Arunmozhi Varman, who later became the legendary emperor Rajaraja I. The movie boasts of an ensemble cast of Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, R. Parthiban and Lal. 

The music is composed by A. R. Rahman, while the cinematography is done by Ravi Varman and edited by Sreekar Prasad, and was produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies. Ponniyin Selvan 1 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The sequel of this epic film is scheduled to debut on theatres on 28th April 2023.
