PMK gets what BJP expected...Here's the full list of constituencies of PMK for the TN Polls!

With three weeks away from the assembly polls, the political parties in Tamil Nadu are preparing for the elections on a full-fledged scale, and the top parties in the state are at the final stage of forming an alliance and while both ADMK and DMK have concluded the talks with the allied parties over seat-sharing, both of them are now in the drive of finalizing the list of constituencies. On Wednesday, ADMK-BJP-PMK had released the final list of constituencies for the upcoming assembly polls.

As per the deal, ADMK has offered 23 seats to PMK and the parties had held hectic episodes of talks over finalizing the constituencies and on Wednesday, ADMK and PMK had released the joint statement in which the constituencies for PMK were listed out.

The statement was jointly signed by ADMK leaders Edappadi Palaniswami and Panneerselvam and PMK leaders Dr. Ramadoss and  GK Mani. PMK has been offered with seats that are majorly from the Northern districts of Tamil Nadu, where PMK has its strong voter base of the Vanniyar community.

According to the list, PMK will be contesting in Gingee (Villupuram), Mailam (Villupuram), Jayankondam (Ariyalur), Thiruporur (Chengalpattu), Vandavasi (Tiruvannamalai), Neyveli (Cuddalore), Thirupathur (Thirupathur), Arcot (Ranipet), Gummidipoondi (Tiruvallur), Mayiladuthurai, Pennagaram (Dharmapuri), Dharmapuri, Virudhachalam (Cuddalore), Kancheepuram, Kilpennathur (Tiruvannamalai), Mettur (Salem), Salem South, Solinghar (Ranipet), Sankarapuram (Kallakurichi), Chepauk- Triplicane (Chennai), Poonammalee (Chennai), Kilvelur (Nagapattinam), and Athur (Dindigul).

Of these constituencies, Chepauk- Triplicane was expected by BJP, but it has now gone to PMK. In late last month, ADMK had inked the deal with PMK by agreeing to offer 23 seats. The deal was finalized hours after the ADMK government had announced a 10.5% reservation bill for the Vanniyar Community, which was demanded by PMK. Through the reservation bill, the Vanniyar Community can get education and employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu under the reservation bill. As the bill was announced, the ADMK had leniently made the deal with PMK.

The final list of constituencies has been released on Wednesday and the bill has become a talking point for PMK and ADMK to cover Vanniyar votes in the Northern districts of Tamil Nadu due to which the ADMK party had awarded seats from Northern districts of the state. While PMK began the talks with ADMK by demanding 30 seats, it ended by agreeing on 23 seats.

After inking the deal, Anbumani Ramadoss said that their demand for reservation for Vanniyars has been met by ADMK due to which PMK had accepted to contest in 23 seats. Anbumani asserted that the ADMK alliance will win in this election and Edappadi Palaniswami will become the Chief Minister again.
