Despite having been under the heated accusations and controversies on carpeting its Hindutva propagandas in the country, BJP has been justifying and backing itself before the queue of the uproar and recently the party had hosted counter-protests against the opposition parties to ratify its notions on proposing and enacting the Citizenship Amendment Act and to catch the drift on what BJP had to say, we interviewed the party's National General Secretary Muralidhar Rao who was in Chennai recently.
In the middle of the fierce critics against the party, Rao furiously rebutted the allegations thrown on the Central ruling party and in his response to one of the accusations that the BJP allegedly attempting to establish RSS ideology across the country, Rao proclaimed that the party had notified about the Citizenship Amendment Act in its poll promise and the party had retained the power with the huge mandate for the second consecutive term after pressing the manifestos throughout the election campaigns and added that India is a country with unity in diversity and accused the opposition parties of spreading the misinformation and falsified campaigns among the people with the motive of demeaning Modi whom the parties can't able to defeat in the electoral grounds.
While questioned about BJP's move of discriminating the Muslims, Rao stated that the minority religions like Hindu, Christians, Parsis, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains have been persecuted in Islamic majority countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan as these minorities are not permitted to reside as refugees in any other countries and cited that Muslims are not oppressed in these three countries and the need for inducting the Muslims hasn't risen.
By backing the Act that won't provide the citizenship for Rohingya Muslims, he said that the Rohingyas possess a huge threat as revealed by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who had branded the group as a dangerous minority not only for Bangladesh but for the entire world. He questioned Rohingyas for relocating to India despite having Muslim countries like Malaysia and Indonesia which are very close to the community. He further added that the terrorists are attempting to pour into India under the tag of refugees and the Central government has barred them to barricade the infiltration of the extremists.
When we expressed about the prevailing baffles on the Act which won't allow the Sri Lankan Tamils to apply for Indian citizenship, Rao cited that the Tamils are not forced to depart from Sri Lanka and the Tamil people had displaced to India in the verge of the country's civil war and most of the displaced Tamils are returning to the island nation after the tensions have been eased and the country is back to the normalcy and if India grants citizenship for the Sri Lankan Tamils, they are not entitled to live in Sri Lanka that would lead them to lose their rights on their properties. Rao asserted that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami had addressed the Central government on providing dual citizenship for Sri Lankan Tamils which has been under consideration and he claimed that the BJP won't betray Tamils like how Congress and DMK parties did under its rule.
