Following them are Actors Ajith and Vijay who are in the inevitable places in the current age cinema. Despite their rival fans, 'Thala' and 'Thalapathy' have been celebrated and admired by the cinematic fans as these both megastars had strongly cemented their path in the cinema that had poured in more popularity across the nation which had presented them with the spots in the Forbes Magazine Celebrity 100 India list that was recently released in which Vijay was ranked in 47th spot across India while Ajith was spotted in 52nd rank.

At this time when Ajith has been flowered and respected by his fans and the people across the nation, we sat down with veteran Tamil director Selva, who holds the pride of introducing 'Thala' Ajith in Tamil cinema through Amaravathi movie that was released in 1993. While we rewound the tapes back to the '90s on how Ajith was introduced, Selva has revealed that it was during the time when he was decided to roll out the movie with the romantic genre after the completion of his first movie 'Thalaivasal'.  He said that 'since it was a love story, we have decided to hire a new face and we even selected a young man through audition. Parallelly, we have completed the song recording for Amaravathi movie and the songs were alloyed with the combination of new melodies and different backgrounds that were loved by most of the crew'.

He stated that ' Lyricist Vairmathu had advised me to induct a potential and capable new face since the songs were applauded and singer S P Balasubramaniam, who worked in the movie, had asked me who was the actor for which I've told him that I've hired a new face but he looks very nervous and tensed after which Balasubramaniam told me about a young man from Mylapore, Chennai. After his reference, I saw the photo album and that was when I saw Ajith for the first time and he was very similar to Bollywood's Aamir Khan at that time and the next day Ajith came to my office and I liked him at the first sight and I was determined that he would be the suitable actor for this story and we camped in Ooty for forty days where we completed the movie 'Amaravathi'.

While we asked director Selva about his thought that Ajith would be becoming a megastar after 25 years when he introduced him in the movie, he cited that it was based on the current scenario that this movie must hit the success and it was not under the prediction of the future and it was certainly like moving to next projects through giving success and no one was in the big dreams.

Since Director Selva was the person who was with Ajith behind the cameras in his debutant movie set, we expressed our interest to know what's Ajith behind the cameras and without hesitation, he revealed that Ajith was outspoken about his interests on the bikes apart from the movie and that was his major talkative subject as he wished to hit the international tracks of bike racings and Ajith had told his aim of becoming a world-class racer and since it would require more investments, Ajith aimed to earn the money through cinema and invest that in his interest of bike racing but that was eventually changed in later period and Selva further pictured that Ajith was very keen about his ambition than the movies.

When asked about his attempts to work with Ajith again after wrapping up Amaravathi, Selva stated that after his first two movies, he switched his track and became a commercial director and cited that he was engaged with the movies for the next four to five years during which he worked with most of the then leading Tamil stars while Ajith was in his beginning level and asserted that he got the opportunities to direct the big shots and 'Kireedam' had given the prospect to direct Ajith again and since he didn't wish to direct Ajith in remake movie, he stayed off from the movie following which, Selva claimed that he has been traveling on his commercial path and he directed the movies 'Naan Avanillai'- starred by Jeevan, 'Jore'- starred by Sibiraj, 'Aanai'- starred by Arjun, and 'Sishya'- starred Karthik.
