Mansoor Ali Khan, the 61-year-old actor who made a sexist remark on his co-star Trisha in the upcoming movie ‘Leo’, has taken a U-turn and apologized to her on social media. However, his apology seems to have fallen on deaf ears as he now accused Trisha, Chiranjeevi, and Khusbu of defaming him.
The controversy started when Mansoor, who played a brief role in Vijay's last release ‘Leo’, said that he did not share screen space with Trisha, the heroine of the film. He also made some crude, inappropriate and misogynistic remarks about her.
The video clip sparked outrage among Trisha’s fans and other film personalities who slammed Mansoor Ali Khan for his disrespectful and inappropriate comments. Trisha herself took to Twitter and expressed her anger and disappointment over his remarks.
Mansoor Ali Khan initially refused to apologize and claimed that the video clip was edited and manipulated to malign his image. He said that he was only joking and that he had a good rapport with Trisha. He also accused some vested interests of trying to create a rift between him and Trisha.
However, after facing severe backlash and criticism from the public and the media, Mansoor Ali Khan changed his stance and apologized to Trisha on social media. In responding to his apology, the actress also wrote, “To err is human…to forgive is divine.”
However, the apology seems to be unending as Mansoor Ali Khan has decided to handle things seriously in a legal way. He has reportedly decided to file defamation suits on November 27th against Trisha, Khushbu, Chiranjeevi and others who condemned his remarks.
He has reiterated that the video clip was fabricated and that he was innocent. He also alleged that Trisha, Chiranjeevi, and Khusbu had tarnished his reputation and disrupted the public for over a week. The film industry is shocked by Mansoor Ali Khan’s decision and many are wondering why he is dragging the issue further and risking his career and reputation. Some are also questioning his motive and credibility behind his apology.
