It indeed is and Keezhadi has been fortunate enough to rewrite the history of what we knew and what has been recorded after it had unearthed precious discoveries and findings through the series of excavations where the archaeologists had proclaimed that these findings have proved that the Sangam civilization would be much older than what has been currently recorded in the history.
By exhuming these historical findings, Keezhadi would inevitably written in the history books as the main and important grounds for ancient Tamil civilization that has been linked with Indus valley civilization. This hamlet which rests in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga district has been unearthing stunning discoveries since 2015 after the Archaeological Survey of India had set up its excavation camp that had exposed the proofs of Tamil civilization which dates back to 3rd century B.C but after accounted for the flawing research which was accused by the state's activists, the Tamil Nadu state archaeological department had taken over the excavations under its control and resumed the excavation process and Keezhadi has been exhuming precious findings for each and every phase of excavation where recently it had unearthed the concrete evidences that belong to 6th century B.C, - about 2,600 years old which has now rewrites the history with new chapters.
These excavations had shown that the ancient Tamil people of Vaigai civilization would have lived with literacy, art of writing and farming resources where the houses and ancient constructions have pictured that it were built with 97% of limestone which was the main foundation that had kept the treasuries alive for thousands of years. The archaeologists had also displayed the skeletal remains of the cattle fields like ox, cow, buffalo and peacock which had revealed the grounds of resourceful civilization. The latest phase of excavations had unearthed about 13 human shaped earthen wares, 35 earrings and accessories and precious metals but however, the excavation had failed to unearth the possibilities of religious worships that strongly had proved that the ancient Tamil civilization have lived without any religious identities.
With suspecting to have more treasuries beneath the grounds, the archaeological department will most likely camp its excavation in the vicinities of Keezhadi which includes 'Arikkamedu' and 'Aathichanallur' that would hopefully brings up the remains of the richness of 'Poombukar' ancient city in Chola dynasty. These treasuries were and are being unearthed after the state archaeological department had tirelessly sieved the place that would have shaped Keezhadi as archaeological 'nectar'.
The state government had urged the Center to release financial assistance for constructing a world class museum in Keezhadi to display the ancient artifacts that have been unearthed from the land which eventually redefines the history of Tamil civilization and the state's activists had demanded that no political grounds should intervene in the excavations that has been packed with numerous discoveries.
