Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' gets a release date...No, it's not when you thought!

As young director Lokesh Kanagaraj celebrates his 36th birthday on Monday - March 14, his next directorial 'Vikram' has got a release date. Unveiling a glimpse of making, the movie team has announced that Vikram will hit the big screens worldwide on June 3. Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan is starring the lead role in Vikram, which would be his first movie in four years since Vishwaroopam II. 

Last Friday, the movie team has announced that the release date will be unveiled on Monday. In line with that, the team has said that the movie would be released on June 3. Vikram is helmed Lokesh Kanagaraj, who directs Kamal Haasan for the first time. While it was speculated that Vikram would clash with Vijay's Beast by targeting the April release, the movie is now been slated for release in June. 

On Monday, Kamal Haasan took to social media and released the making glimpse by sharing the release date. He wrote, "I am waiting with bated breath for our "Vikram" to release world over, in theatres on June 3rd 2022." The glimpse has been going viral across and beyond the borders as fans convey their birthday wishes to the director. 

The shooting of Vikram has held for 110 days and it was wrapped up on March 2. Lokesh Kanagaraj had shared the special video from the last day of the shoot and some reports suggest that the Vikram movie will be released in May and it will come with the tag of one of the anticipated movies of 2022. After the wrap, the director wrote, "After 110 days of shoot, it's a wrap. Thanks to the entire cast and crew for the extraordinary effort." 

Vikram is been made as an action thriller film and it is bankrolled by Raaj Kamal Films International. While Kamal Haasan plays the lead role, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Kalidas Jayaram, Shivani Narayanan, Narain, Antony Varghese, Arjun Das, and Sampath Ram would play important roles. Anirudh composes the music and Philomin Raj and Girish Gangadharan have done editing and cinematography respectively. Vikram has been made with a budget of around Rs 100 crore.
