“The nation will always remain indebted," the PRO Defence said after four soldiers laid wreaths to pay tributes to those who were killed in an Army camp in Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Reports said that both the militants involved in the attack were gunned down after a four-hour-long firefight. One of the brave fighters was native to Madurai, Tamilnadu.

Lakshmanan D, an army trooper from D. Pudhupatti village near Tirumangalam in the Madurai district, perished valiantly in this terrorist onslaught. His body was taken in service aircraft from Jammu to Delhi and taken to his respective hometown for performing the last rites with full military honors which occurred by 4 PM.  Political leaders including Ministers K K S S R Ramachandran, Thangam Tennarasu, O Panneerselvam, and District President Manimaran visited to pay their respects. citizens and relatives pay their final respects to his body at the funeral procession. The identified mortal remains were Subedar Rajendra Prasad of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, Rifleman Lakshmanan D of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Rifleman Manoj Kumar of Faridabad, Haryana, and Rifleman Nishant Malik of Hissar, Haryana.

 A defense statement said, “Today, in a solemn wreath laying ceremony held at Air Force Station, Jammu, rich tributes were paid to the gallant soldiers who made supreme sacrifice during the Counter Terrorist Operation in Parghal in District Rajouri on 11 August 2022.” Reports claim that soldiers were killed in an unexpected suicide attack by terrorists when a few attempted to cross the camp boundary after the security forces had established an army camp in the Darhal area of the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir and were engaged in security and patrolling.

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi gave the eulogy for  the  respective mortals, he said "The nation will always be indebted and grateful for his devotion of duty and supreme sacrifice for sovereignty and integrity of the nation." He said, "In this hour of enormous grief, I pray to the Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace and give his family strength to bear this irreparable loss."
