KT Raghavan's sleaze video has stirred a divide and political tussle in Tamil Nadu and when the video, in which the then BJP Tamil Nadu General Secretary KT Raghavan was seen indulging in sexual activity during a video call with a woman, was released by a YouTuber with the claim of 'sting operation', it has attracted massive outrage across the state following which Raghavan had resigned from the party's post.
Tamil Nadu Congress MP Jothimani had filed a complaint to the police to take action against Raghavan. As the YouTuber was a BJP member when he released the video, the Tamil Nadu BJP Unit has fired him and his associate for bringing disrepute to the party. While the video had troubled the BJP with the questions of why the party hasn't expelled Raghavan from the basic membership, state BJP President Annamalai has said that he has formed a committee to probe the allegations.
Days after the release of the video, Naam Tamilar Chief Coordinator Seeman has apparently come in support of Raghavan and urged the police to arrest the people who had taken the video covertly and released it. While speaking to the reporters recently, Seeman asked whether Raghavan has done something that won't happen in the world and said that taking video without someone's consent is a crime and stringent action should be taken against those who had taken the video.
Seeman's statement in favour of Raghavan had sparked fresh debates and invited controversy as the YouTuber has alleged that Raghavan had been sexually harassing the woman and said that he has more evidence against a dozen BJP leaders involving in such sleazes. Congress MP Jothimani and several women activists had slammed Seeman for supporting the act.
However, what had been Seeman's bid of support to the BJP had eventually ended in an unexpected way after Annamalai's statement that was in the fashion of breaking Seeman's nose. Annamalai left for Delhi on Friday to meet senior BJP leaders. He said that he has come to Delhi to convey the judgments of the Madras High Court concerning temples to the BJP leaders. He was addressing the reporters in Delhi during which he was asked about Seeman's statement in connection to KT Raghavan's sleaze video.
Responding to the question, Annamalai said, "I won't take his (Seeman) speech seriously. I will laugh at it. Everyone knows why Seeman supports KT Raghavan in the matter." He added that a committee has been formed to probe into the allegations against Raghavan's sleaze video and said that he won't interfere in the probe and said that he will speak about the probe after the committee completes it.
