Hyderabad police encounter on the accused triggers mixed reactions!

Hours after the Hyderabad Police have shot dead the four accused with connection to the gangrape and murder case of 26-year-old female veterinary doctor, the incident has spurred in mixed reactions from the common people, from the politicians, and the celebrities who have been hosting the celebrations on one hand and levying series of accusations on the other hand by terming the incident as the controversial killings.

While speaking to the ANI news agency, the father of the deceased doctor has said that "It has been 10 days since my daughter died and I express my gratitude towards the police and the government for this. My daughter's soul must be at peace now." Asha Devi, the mother of Nirbhaya who still awaits Justice, said that the police department has done a great job.

She told the ANI that she is extremely happy with this punishment and she demanded that no action should be taken against the police personnel who shot dead the accused. Through her address, she further appealed that the convicts of the Nirbhaya case must be hanged to death. Joining in line with the families of the victims are the celebrities where actor Rishi Kapoor congratulated the police and badminton player Saina Nehwal took to twitter and she had saluted the Hyderabad police.

 

The actors and actresses of the Telugu film industry like Nagarjuna, Junior NTR, Rakul Preet Singh, Manchu Manoj, Lakshmi Manchu, and Nani had unanimously echoed their voice in welcoming the encounter and quoted that the 'Justice has been served.' Director A R Murugadoss has extended his salute to the Hyderabad Police and expressed his hope for the day where every woman feels safe and secure to live in this country. Actor Vishal has tweeted that the justice is served finally and extended his thanks to Telangana police.

On the other hand, the lawyer of the Supreme court, Karuna Nundy has accused the police on their alleged encounter where she said that nobody will ever know if the four men killed by the police were innocent and whether four of the most brutal rapists roam free, to rape and kill more women. Karti Chidambaram, the son of former Indian Finance minister and senior Congress leader Chidambaram, has said that despite rape is a heinous crime, it must be dealt with strictly under the provisions of law and stated that the encounter killings are a blot to our system. Karti further added that "While I understand the urge for instant justice, this is not the way".

Veteran lawyer Vrinda Grover said that the encounter is unacceptable and stated that these killings distract the public and save the police and state from any accountability. In her Facebook post, she has written that "This is absolutely unacceptable. So all that the state will do in the name of ensuring that women live as equal and free citizens is to add to its arsenal of unlimited arbitrary violence!" Rekha Sharma, National Commission for Women said that "As a common citizen I'm feeling happy that this was the end we all wanter for them. But this end was supposed to be through the legal system. It should have happened through proper channels".

Soon after the incident, the people have surrounded the place and lauded the police department and the neighbors and relatives of the woman doctor, who was brutally raped and killed, celebrated and offered sweets to the police personnel for killing the accused and most of the people had sprinkled the flowers on the police to show their respect.
