Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for his first-time outing with a Tollywood team for his next movie that has been tentatively named Thalapathy 66. Currently, the stardom actor awaits the release of the movie 'Beast' which has been slated to hit the screens in April 2022. Vijay has already completed his portion of segments for the Beast and the movie team is busy giving final touches for the release. 

While Beast is all set for the big race during the summer vacation, it is expected that Vijay will start the shooting soon for Thalapathy 66 and the confirmation of Vijay's induction in the project was unveiled recently. It would be the first time that Vijay will be joining hands with the league of Tollywood artists. Popular Telugu producer Dil Raju will be bankrolling Thalapathy 66 and it was earlier reported that Vijay is going to get a remuneration of over 100 crores for acting in the movie. 

As the works are underway to go to the floors of shooting, producer Dil Raju has now opened up on how Vijay has reacted after hearing the movie's story. In an interview, Dil Raju has said that Thalapathy 66 will be a family entertainer like the movies of Poove Unakaga and Kadaluku Mariyathai. On how Vijay reacted to the story, Raju said that the actor has told him that it's been over 20 years since he heard such a story. 

Dil Raju has also revealed that Thalapathy 66 will begin its shooting in March 2022 with the target of releasing the movie during the Diwali occasion in 2022 or next year's Sankranti festival. Thalapathy 66 is directed by Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally. In his interview with the Telugu channel, producer Dil Raju said, "Vamshi has come up with a beautiful storyline." 

"When I listened to it, I loved it and Vijay heard the story and said that he hasn't heard a story like this in 20 years. When a star says this, it gives you confidence. The film's shooting will begin in March and if there are no delays due to Covid-19, the movie will get released on Diwali and if the movie misses the Diwali release, it will get released on Sankranti 2023", Dil Raju added. The team has been finalizing the rest of the crew members. 

Beast is produced by Kalanithi Maran under his own banner 'Sun Pictures' and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. While Vijay plays the lead role, Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Shine Tam Chacko, John Vijay, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das, Sathish Krishnan, and Redin Kingsley will play important roles. Anirudh has composed the music while cinematography and editing were done by Manoj Paramahamsa and Nirmal respectively. It has been reported that Beast will hit the screens on 14th April 2022.
