Happy news for Tamil cinema fans: Iconic 'Chandramukhi' is back in a new avatar...This time, not with Rajinikanth!

In an unanticipated piece of news for the Tamil cinema fans, the iconic and magnum opus movie 'Chandramukhi' has come in a new avatar as its sequel is now being commenced and the big surprise has relished the fans from across and beyond the borders. Though the update of the Chandramukhi 2 has become surreal, another important factor that has jolted the fans is that the sequel won't be starred by Superstar Rajinikanth. 

Rajinikanth has played a lead role in the movie Chandramukhi which was released in 2005. Now, after seventeen years, the movie is going for a sequel and what has amazed the fans is that Chandramukhi 2 will have Raghava Lawrence playing the lead role. You read it right! Raghava Lawrence has been roped in to take up the baton to lead the sequel of the magnum opus on the big screens. Chandramukhi 2 will be coming to the screens with an ensemble cast and technicians.

P Vasu, who helmed Chandramukhi, will also be directing Chandramukhi 2 while it will be bankrolled by Subaskaran under his own banner Lyca Productions. The production house has put the fans in an adrenaline rush on Monday over its tweet in which it wrote, "A big announcement from Lyca Productions tomorrow 6 pm." Following the announcements, there were several speculations, which had eventually ended by now with the announcement of venturing into the world of Chandramukhi. 

Lyca has unveiled this huge update at 6 pm on Tuesday and by releasing the posters, it wrote "Elated to announce our next big project Chandramukhi 2." As per its update, Raghava Lawrence will be playing the lead role along with Vaigaipuyal Vadivelu. The music for Chandramukhi 2 would be composed by Keeravaani, who is widely known for his composing for the movies Baahubali and RRR. While Rajasekar would be the cinematographer, Thotta Tharani has been roped in as the art director. 

It would be the first time that Lawrence would be joining hands with P Vasu and it has been speculated that Anushka Shetty will be playing the female lead. The first part of Chandramukhi has become one of the iconic and everlasting movies of the Tamil cinema industry by being a mega-blockbuster. It was a movie from Kollywood that ran for nearly 1000 days during the early 2000s. 

Chandramukhi 1 was produced by Sivaji Productions and it had starred Rajinikanth in the lead role while Prabhu, Jyothika, Vadivelu, Nayanthara, Nassar, Vineeth, Vijayakumar, Sheela, KR Vijaya, Avinash, Malavika, and Sonu Sood had played important roles. The music was composed by Vidyasagar and it has run successfully in several countries. The 2005-megahit movie has also received several accolades and as Lyca is now going to produce its sequel Chandramukhi 2, the expectations about the movie are huge so is the wait of the fans.
