The Tamil Nadu police control room has, on Saturday, received an anonymous call which got disconnected after sending a shocking message that a bomb has been planted at the residence of Actor Ajith Kumar in Chennai.
Soon after receiving such a threatening call, the control room has altered and passed the alert to the Neelankarai police station as the actor's residence falls under its limit. The personnel from the bomb squad was deployed to the actor's residence in Injambakkam. They carried out an intense search on the premises and they found nothing following which it came to the revelation that the bomb call made by the anonymous caller was a hoax.
According to the reports, the Neelankarai police have been tracking the location of the caller along with the cybercrime police department. Upon the search, the caller traced to Villupuram and they passed the information to the Villupuram police department and further investigation and manhunt are on to locate the caller.
Police officials say the caller has made similar hoax calls in the past against the notable people. He was detained and imprisoned previously under the grounds of threatening over a bomb call. The reports stated that he has now made a hoax call against Ajith Kumar amid being released in bail.
The hoax bomb call has been made against Ajith a fortnight after such a call was placed against Actor Vijay. On July 4, the anonymous caller has called the control room and said that the bomb has been placed in Actor Vijay's residence in Saligramam in Chennai. After the extensive search, the authorities declared the call as a hoax.
Upon tracing the number, it led to Villupuram district and the officials had detained a young man with psycho-social disabilities from Marakkanam in Villupuram. The police had let off the man with a severe warning. Although the calls were declared hoax which had brought relief among the actors and authorities, it has shocked them with a back to back bomb threat calls targeting the top actors and notable people.
