Finally, actor Ajith's 'AK 62' announcement is here...Check out the interesting crew and when the shoot will hit the floors!

Finally, after a barrage of speculations, the announcement of Ajith's new project 'AK 62' is here as the fans celebrate the unification of an interesting crew. As speculated, AK 62 will be helmed by Vignesh Shivan, while it will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The trio is joining for the first time with each other and the announcement has spurred a fresh round of expectations. 

It was announced that AK 62 update will be unveiled at 7 pm on Friday - March 18. As announced, Lyca Productions has officially issued a statement in which it has confirmed the collaboration with actor Ajith. The production company has said, "We proudly announce our next film with Mr Ajith Kumar 'AK 62' to be directed by Mr Vignesh Shivan, music composed by Mr Anirudh, produced by Subaskaran." 

"This project will be headed by Mr GKM Tamil Kumaran. The shooting of the film will commence by the end of this year and release by mid next year. The other cast and crew details will be announced soon. Lyca is very proud and happy to have joined hands with Mr Ajith Kumar. As a team, Lyca is committed to carry out a sincere and fruitful collaboration to provide quality films to the audiences and fans", the company added. 

The announcement has been going viral and it has been speculated that Nayanthara will be playing the female lead. Director Vignesh Shivan took to Twitter and wrote, "Thank you Ajith sir for this greatest opportunity to work with you for the prestigious AK 62. Words can't explain happiness. With my king Anirudh again and Lyca Productions." 

Anirudh said, "Excited to score for AK sir again in AK 62. A Vignesh Shivan directorial will always be a musical special. Lyca Productions onwards and upwards (sic)." Ajith is currently preparing for the movie that has been tentatively named AK 61, which is directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor, the same team had worked with the actor for his last movie 'Valimai', which has released on February 24, 2022. Though Valimai has earned mixed reviews, it has become a blockbuster hit commercially.
