Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is on cloud nine as his movie 'Vikram', in which he directed Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, has finally hit the big screens on Friday - June 3. Joined by music director Anirudh and hundreds of fans, Lokesh Kanagaraj has relished watching the movie in a theatre in Chennai at 4 am as a director and as an ardent fan of Kamal Haasan.
The young director is super happy as Vikram has opened to a mass reception and positive reviews. Behind his happiness lies a story of hard work, sacrifice, and patience to brace up for the deferments of release. As millions of fans are finally into the world of Vikram, Lokesh Kanagaraj has penned an emotional letter ahead of the movie's release in which he had thanked Kamal Haasan and said that Vikram is a gift to the actor from a fan boy.
He has also shared a picture of him with Kamal Haasan clicked in the sets and his tweet has been going viral. In his letter, Lokesh Kanagaraj has said, "This is the most emotional I've ever felt before the release of my film. As I can remember, ever since I was a kid, I loved Ulaganayagan the most. This is a surreal experience for me, that I am directing a film in his honour. I thank all the kind souls who made this possible. It has been 18 months since I started working on Vikram."
He further said, "As a team, we have shed blood and sweat (quite literally) for the film in order to entertain you, our audiences, and to celebrate one man, the pride of our nation, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. It is a great honour to have the opportunity to direct you, sir. This film is a gift to you from a fan boy! I will cherish these moments forever!"

Kamal Haasan's game has Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, while actor Suriya plays a cameo role. Kamal Haasan is back on the big screens after four years. His last movie was Vishwaroopam 2 and this time, Ulaganayagan would taste an outstanding comeback through Vikram. Vikram has been made as an action thriller movie. While Lokesh Kanagaraj has helmed the movie, it is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan under his own banner Raaj Kamal Films International.
While Kamal Haasan plays the lead role, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Arjun Das, Narain, Harish Uthaman, Kalidas Jayaram, Antony Varghese, Shivani Narayanan, and Ramesh Thilak had played important roles. Actor Suriya has won hearts through his cameo appearance. Anirudh has composed the music and the movie has been made on the budget of Rs 80 crore. Vikram had several deferments in release until locking on June 3. Initially, it was scheduled for release in mid-April 2022. The team has adjusted the release date due to the scheduling of several other big-budget films and production delays caused due to the pandemic. Vikram has also been released in Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi.
