The latest hinting tease about the two A-listers, Vijay and Kamal Hassan appearing together in the upcoming gangster film Leo has fans excited. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has assembled an all-star cast for his upcoming film, and Malayalam actor Joju George has just started filming in Chennai.
But what has set the internet on fire is a cryptic post by the film’s art director Sathees Kumar, who shared a photo of a golden eagle on his social media account and wrote “The Eagle Is Comin”, which is the theme for Kamal Haasan’s character in Vikram, another action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Vikram, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil.
Fans have theorized that Leo could exist within the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), a shared fictional setting where films like Kaithi and Vikram could share characters and storylines. The earlier reports of Vijay Sethupathi's involvement in Leo appear to be true, as the Makkal Selvan has reportedly set aside three days on his call sheet to act in and do voiceover for the film.
If Kamal Haasan does join Leo, it will be a historic moment for Tamil cinema, as two of the biggest icons of the industry will come together for the first time. Kamal Haasan is currently busy with Shankar’s Indian 2, which is being shot in South Africa. Leo, on the other hand, is expected to wrap up its shooting by May end and release later this year.
Leo is produced by Seven Screen Studios banner. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Philomin Raj. The film is said to be a high-octane action entertainer where Vijay plays a ruthless gangster who takes on his enemies with his loyal team. The film is slated for release on October 19th this year.
The star-studded cast of LEO boasts big names like Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, Sandy, and many more, all coming together to create a cinematic masterpiece.
