The incumbent pontiff of Madurai Aadheenam, who is known for his controversial remarks, has now gone an extra mile and advocated not to watch the movies of actor Vijay. His comments have been turning heads as he spurred a fresh round of controversy.

Madurai Aadheenam was addressing an event organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Madurai on Sunday. In his address, Madurai Aadheenam had slammed the government over the TASMAC liquor shops and said that the liquor shops are posing a huge influence today.

He went on to claim that politics has entered the temples as well and asked who would speak such politics other than them. He cited that the spiritual leaders can speak politics and said that the Hindu Charitable and Endowments Department should be revoked and that the temples should be brought under the committee of the local people and headed by retired Justices.
