DMDK Chief Vijayakanth was admitted to MIOT Hospitals in Chennai on Tuesday night, days after he tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection. Last week, he was discharged from the hospital and advised to be under home isolation to get recovered from the novel coronavirus. 

He was again admitted to the hospital on Tuesday night and with the rumors doing rounds concerning his health and immediate hospitalization which said that he had developed COVID-19 complications, his party has officially released a press note in which it has asserted that the actor turned politician has been doing stable and appealed to the people not to believe the rumors on his health.

In its press release, the DMDK party said, "Vijayakanth has been admitted to a private hospital for the secondary tests. He is in good health, and please don't believe in rumors regarding his health".  On September 22, the DMDK Chief had tested positive for the global pandemic and he was treated at the MIOT Hospitals in Chennai for further treatments. 

He was at the hospital for ten days and got discharged after his recovery. The hospital said that the leader has been doing stable and would be discharged soon. While he was under treatment, his wife and DMDK treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth has confirmed to have contracted to the viral infection and she was getting treated at the same hospital. 

Both of them were discharged from the hospital on October 2 and prior to discharge, the hospital said, "Mr. A Vijayakanth and Mrs. Premalatha had tested positive for COVID-19. They are evaluated at MIOT Hospitals, Chennai, and stayed on for observations. They have responded extremely well to treatment and are getting discharged today".

According to reports, the doctors had advised them to be in home isolation until they test negative for the viral infection. Nearly five days after getting discharged, Vijayakanth has again been moved to the hospital on Tuesday and the party had said that he was admitted for the secondary tests.
