Director Ram's Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai earns prestigious spot in an International Film Festival

In a momentous achievement for Tamil cinema, Director Ram's magnum opus, 'Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai,' has secured an official selection in the highly esteemed Big Screen Competition category at the 53rd International Film Festival Rotterdam. The festival is scheduled to take place from January 25 to February 4, 2024, marking a significant recognition for the film even before its theatrical debut.

Suresh Kamatchi, the film's producer from V House Productions, expressed his profound emotions in a statement that is now making waves across social media. He conveyed his excitement about the acknowledgement of their work on an international platform, emphasizing the pride they feel in competing with a diverse array of global films for the prestigious Big Screen Award.

Kamatchi expressed hope that the media industry and cinema enthusiasts, known for their unwavering support of quality works, would extend their encouragement to 'Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai.' The announcement comes as a fitting conclusion to the year, and Kamatchi conveyed his gratitude to Director Ram for placing their production on the global stage, earning a special award nomination internationally for the first time.

Produced by Suresh Kamatchi of V House Productions, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and also stars Soori. The cinematography of the film is handled by NK Ekhambaram, while Mathi S serves as the editor.  ‘Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai’, which translates to seven seas and seven hills, is rumored to be an epic love story between a fisherman and a woman.

The film marks Nivin Pauly’s third outing in Tamil after ‘Neram’ and ‘Richie’. Anjali plays his love interest, while Soori plays a key role. The earlierly released motion poster video has a slight theme of never-ending love while also combining suspense. The shooting of the project took place in Dhanushkodi and in Chennai.  Stunt Silva directed the stunt, Sandy Master did the choreography, and Umesh J. Kumar took care of production design/art.
