'Diwali- the festival of lights' - this would be the common caption for marking the festival but it seemingly won't be applicable for Vijay fans as for them the Diwali is the festival of Vijay movies, the festival of fans reunion in the place of family reunion and the festival of tearing the skies through whistles that will overrule the sounds of crackers as Actor Vijay has been undeniably occupying the minds and hearts of the cinematic audiences during Diwali through his movies. For last year, his movie 'Sarkar' hit the screens and before that, 'Mersal' rocked the season and this year, it was 'Bigil' diwali for Vijay fans. Does  Bigil crackers skyrocketed the celebrations of the fans or it busted the expectations?

'Bigil' was third movie from the alliance of Vijay and director Atlee, whose bonding has been getting enhanced for every reunification that had brought the duo as one of the most admired and celebrated duos in Tamil cinema industry as their combination had presented mass Diwali for Vijay fans and after scripting the story of different journals and different roles for Actor Vijay in past two movies, Atlee had this time directed and presented the movie with Vijay in three roles and with the mixtures of actions and sports as the fans claim that their 'Thalapathy' had added pride to the women and to the football by choosing women and sport centric movie. 

Michael, the don of North Chennai has been in the dominance and the only haven for the people to fight against injustice and atrocities where he overrules the minister to make him pass the government order through his own style and he had earned the respect of the local people through his father ' Rayappan'. Rayappan hopes that his son's skill of playing football would not only water his growth and it should also enhance the living of the people but the villain had different plans for the father and son duo where they had diverted the goal of Michael after murdering his father Rayappan and the rest of the movie pictures how Michael kept the dream of his father alive.

The Actor bridges the mixture of two sequences - the action and the sports and throughout the movie, the director had packed with the moments of more goose bumps for the fans and adding to that, A R Rahman's music stronghold the movie to cement successful end along with the catching verticals and angles of the camera. While heroism factor plays major role in the movie, it also gives equal importance for lighting the hope of marginalized and paralyzed women through the actions and lyrics of 'Singapenne'.

Actor Vijay had competed himself in portraying the variation among his roles and it certain that Vijay had stolen the eyes of the audiences in every scenes that had lowered the presence of the other artists. Through his one line comedy, Yogi Babu manages to register before the audiences while women players Reba and Varsha had attracted the attention amidst many. Bigil is most likely the recent films for the lady superstar Nayanthara in which her role was at average level and despite acting in the role of no importance, Nayanthara adds more beauty for her character and on the other hand, Actor Kathir was used less in the movie while Indhuja has played much. One of the veteran actor of Bollywood cinema Jackie Shroff had played villain role in the movie and regardless of non potential role, he had tuned the role with four decades of experience. The Actors like Vivek, Anandharaj, Daniel Balaji, Devadharshini have kept their role in the movie while in some places Vivek tried using the magic and acting of 90's but it majorly didn't worked out in the movie.

While Atlee attempted to mix two sequences in the movie, it was left with no in depth story as apart from Vijay, most of the roles hadn't shaped to the fullest form that was clearly seen in the role of Jackie Shroff as the director shouldn't have written the weak role and called Bollywood actor to play in the movie, that was one of the major lapses in the movie and the magnificent sets and football grounds had failed to add magnificent to the story and stayed off from traveling with the story that had somehow seen as the artificial backgrounds in the real movie and Michael's role was filled with exorbitant nature that had naturally raised questions on the necessities.

Director Atlee seemed to had taken more independence in making the sports movie where there were no concrete playing techniques and terms during the play and despite of claiming to be women centric movie, the Actor plays major role in every shots that should have been reduced. There were many deviations in the movie that runs for three hours - unmatched and unjustifiable length indeed. By writing the dialogues that would bring more celebrations among the Vijay fans, the director had slipped away from the opportunities of scoring the goal. 

It was the third movie Atlee had directed for Vijay and the role of Vijay is not the only component that will bring success for the movie and with that understanding, the director had scripted the roles and backgrounds of North Chennai, Sports and actions but 'Bigil', the movie of all these combinations not reached the skies but just cracked like a normal crackers and the movie just ended as the movie not as the celebrations and festival of Diwali.
