The Tamil film industry is gearing up for a massive box-office clash this October, as two of the biggest stars of Kollywood, Dhanush and Vijay, are ready to lock horns with their respective films. Captain Miller, directed by Arun Matheswaran, is a period action drama that follows the revolution of the LTTE activist ‘Captain Miller’ in 1940s.
The film stars Dhanush in the titular role, along with Priyanka Arulmohan, Edward Sonnenblick, Shivarajkumar and others. The film is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, whose head producer recently confirmed that the film will release during a ‘holiday’ weekend in October.
Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is a contemporary action thriller that features Vijay as a secret agent who goes by the code name Leo. The film also stars Trisha, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Menon and many others.
The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Philomin Raj. The film is being made on a whopping budget of ₹250–300 crore and Vijay is reportedly taking a revenue-sharing model as his remuneration.
The last time these two actors clashed at the box-office was in 2011, when Aadukalam and Kaavalan released on the same Pongal holidate. This time, however, the stakes are higher, as both Captain Miller and Leo are expected to be big-budget extravaganzas with stunning star cast and gripping premise. The fans of both the actors are eagerly waiting to see who will emerge victorious in this epic battle of titans.
