COVID-19: TN reports 3,827 fresh cases as the state's tally crossed 1.14 lakh!

The state of Tamil Nadu has reported 3,827 fresh cases that were tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Monday through which the state's tally currently stands at 1,14,978 cases so far in its territory including active, recovered, and deceased patients.

After reporting more than 4000 cases for the three consecutive days last week, the state has reported a decline in its graph. According to the official press release issued by the state health department, Tamil Nadu has tested 13,76,497 samples so far including 34,782 that were tested on Monday of which 3,827 returned positive for the pandemic. The current reporting of 3,827 cases include 44 people who returned to the state from other regions including other Indian states and overseas.

 

These 3,827 cases include 2,285 are males and the rest 1,542 are female patients. Nine districts have accounted with the major caseloads in the current reporting. According to the press release, 1,747 cases belong to Chennai, 245 cases belong to Madurai, 213 cases belong to Chengalpattu, 182 cases belong to Kancheepuram, and 175 cases belong to Thiruvallur.

119 cases belong to Theni, 109 from Thoothukudi, 86 cases belong to Virudhunagar, and 84 cases from Tirunelveli. While Chennai has been reporting a decline in cases for the past few days, some of the districts in the state, particularly Madurai, Thiruvannamalai, Thiruvallur, Tirunelveli, Theni, Vellore, Ramanathapuram have been reporting soaring high cases. 

The state has reported 3,793 fresh discharges taking the tally of total discharge to 66,571 so far. The state has also recorded 61 deaths which took the death toll to 1,571 so far. According to the press release, of these 61 deaths, 46 deaths were reported from the government hospitals while the rest 15 were reported from the private establishments.

Out of 61 deaths, thirty belong to Chennai and while all 61 deceased had affected by COVID-19, 53 of them had identified with comorbid conditions. With the current reporting of 1,747 cases, Chennai has recorded 70,017 cases so far and after witnessing the reporting of over 2000 cases last week, the number of cases in Chennai have been dropping while the cases have been surging in some of the other districts. 

Of the current reporting of 3,827 cases, Chennai accounts for 1,747 cases while the rest 2,000 cases were reported from other districts which had exemplified the rise of clusters across the state. As of Monday, Tamil Nadu has reported 1,14,978 cases so far of which 46,833 are active, 66,571 have been recovered, and 1,571 had succumbed to the virus.
