Chandramukhi 2 is a comedy horror film directed by P. Vasu, who also helmed the first part. The second part of the film stars Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut, Vadivelu and Radhika Sarathkumar in the lead roles. Fans now have a reason to rejoice as the sequel, Chandramukhi 2, have a release date buzz.

According to media reports, the film is slated to hit the theatres on September 15, 2023, coinciding with the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chathurthi. Vadivelu reprises his iconic role of Murugesan, a comic sidekick who provides comic relief. Radhika Sarathkumar plays the pivotal role who owns the palace, as per rumors.

The shooting of Chandramukhi 2 began in July 2022 and wrapped up in February 2023. The film was shot in various locations such as Mysore, Chennai and Hyderabad. The film is produced by Lyca Productions and Sun Pictures and has music composed by S.S. Thaman.  

The film will also mark Kangana Ranaut’s second Tamil film after her critically acclaimed biopic Thalaivii, based on the life of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa. The film is a standalone sequel to Chandramukhi, which was itself a remake of the 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu. The film was also remade in other languages such as Kannada as Apthamitra (2004) and Hindi as Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007).

Chandramukhi was a huge success at the box office and received critical acclaim for its performances, music and direction. The film featured Rajinikanth, Jyothika, Prabhu and Nayanthara in the main roles. The makers of Chandramukhi 2 have not yet released the official trailer or poster of the film but have shared some pictures from the sets on social media. The fans are eagerly waiting for more updates on the film and are hoping that it will live up to the expectations set by its predecessor.
