BJP's new assignment to take on DMK- What has it got?

Amid the Coronavirus outbreak and health crisis brought by the pandemic, the Central ruling BJP party has been eyeing for the prospects and possibilities for strongly pillaring its political base in Tamil Nadu in the upcoming elections through the ruling ADMK party with the view of meeting its important goal of not letting DMK rule the state.

It's apparent that the BJP party has no representative in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. However, our sources say that the Central ruling party eyes to pedal the politics on the back of the state ruling party, which enjoys a majority mark in the assembly. The ruling ADMK party observes close ties with the BJP through which the ADMK supports BJP's move of enhancing the base in Tamil Nadu.

In its new assignment, Modi's faction hopes to diminish the hope of DMK of taking over the power in the upcoming legislative elections and the Central ruling party has instructed the state wing towards attaining the goal through integrating and enhancing ADMK and to upgrade BJP's reputation in the state. One of BJP senior leaders Muralidhar Rao has echoed the same in the meeting held recently with the Tamil Nadu leaders, according to our sources.

With the view of strengthening its goodwill in Tamil Nadu, the Central ruling party has deployed Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal to the state to overview and monitor the relief efforts in the state against combating the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Tamil Nadu has always been one of the strongest critics of BJP since it came to power.

The Opposition parties have been condemning both the state and central ruling parties against its governance to curb the spread. DMK has been criticizing the ADMK over its response against the pandemic. However, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami believes that he has earned the reputation across the state through the fight against the virus following which he even called directly to Home Minister Amit Shah and asked him to conduct the legislative elections by December 2020 to retain the power.
