There has been much discussion regarding the release date of Vamshi Padipally's Varisu within the Telugu producers' council, and fans have been eagerly awaiting Pongal 2023. Now that the film's producer, Dil Raju has plans to release a Hindi adaptation of the movie in 2023 during Pongal or Sankaraarti festival.
The first single, "Ranjithame," has racked up over 60 million views on YouTube and there's been recent buzz that actor Silambarasan's vocal treat will feature on the upcoming second single. Now the latest news is that in addition to Tamil and Telugu, Varisu will also be released in Hindi. The film's producer, Dil Raju, put out this major confirmation during a recent interview. There hasn't even been a single Hindi poster released by the production company yet.
The producer is seen in the now-viral interview stating that the first film announced for a Makar Sankranti release in 2023 is Varisu/Varasudu (Telugu). He went on to say that his film Varasudu will get better screens than the other Sankranthi Telugu releases, Walter Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy, because of his connections with the theatre owners.
After the release of Master and Beast, Vijay is set to have a third simultaneous theatrical debut in Hindi with Varisu. A commotion had arisen earlier because the Telugu Film Producers Association had issued a directive stating that during Sankranthi and Dussehra, the original Telugu releases should be given preference over the dubbed ones.
Varisu is a family drama cum entertainer and has an ensemble cast with Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Sarathkumar, Meena, Sneha, Samyuktha, Sangeetha, Yogi Babu to name a few. Music for the film is composed by Thaman and the film marks Vijay's maiden collaboration with Vamshi Paidipally, Thaman and Rashmika. Cinematography is by Karthik Phalani and editing by Praveen KL. The film has been bankrolled by Dil Raju, Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations and PVP Cinema.
