Following Suriya's Diwali gift of 'Soorarai Pottru' to his fans, Vijay gets ready to unveil his Diwali gift for his ardent fans by giving them what they have been waiting for a long time. It's official now that Vijay's next 'Master' is coming soon and director Lokesh Kanagaraj has shared a big update on Thursday and made an announcement on the movie's teaser release. 

Master has wrapped up the shooting and has been waiting for the release. It was slated for release during April this year, however, the COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions had spoiled the release, pushing the movie team to keep deferring the release. The movie was largely expected by Vijay fans given its young and legendary crew. 

The posters of the movie were released before the lockdown and so are the songs which had further stirred more expectations. Amid the rise of the OTT platforms in the wake of the lockdown where most of the movies were released directly on the OTT platforms, Vijay's Master has asserted that it will be getting released only in the theaters and the movie team had waited for the resumption of the theaters. 

With having no further updates, the fans took to social media and asked director Lokesh Kanagaraj to release the update and for the past few days, fans have been trending their request on Twitter asking the director for the movie update. 

Amid the expectations, Lokesh Kanagaraj has on the morning hours of Thursday taken to Twitter and said "Finally! The MASTER arrives". In his tweet, he shared a video clip that revealed that the update will be shared on Thursday at 6 pm. 

Ever since he winged his Tweet, fans have been speculated that Lokesh is going to release the update about the teaser of the movie and as speculated, Lokesh Kanagaraj shared a big update at 6 pm in which he revealed that the teaser will be released on 14th November 6 pm, on Diwali eve, which had become Vijay's Diwali gift to his fans. The growing director took to Twitter and said, "Thank you all for the patience and support!" and shared the update, which had relished Vijay fans. 

Master has been bankrolled by Xavier Britto under the banner of XB Studios and Vijay is working with Lokesh Kanagaraj for the first time so is the latter, who had given blockbuster movies like 'Maanagaram' and 'Kaithi'.

Anirudh has composed music for Master and the movie has roped in Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, and Gauri Kishan in the important roles. With the teaser release on Diwali, it has been expected that the movie will be released on Pongal 2021. Following Master, Lokesh Kanagaraj has been directing Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan. Titled as 'Vikram', the first look of the movie and teaser was released recently. Vijay has finally acted in Atlee directorial 'Bigil', which was released during the last Diwali, when Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Kaithi' was also released, giving a strong clash.
