With the back to back hits, Vijay has become the actor with the most-guaranteed market to bag the box office. Directing him has become a race in Kollywood as several filmmakers are eagerly waiting to work with him and while the actor is busy with his next, that has been tentatively named as Thalapathy 66, the race is on in the Tamil cinema industry on who would be directing him in Thalapathy 67.
Vijay awaits the release of Beast, which will be hitting the big screens on April 14 and he is preparing for the shooting of Thalapathy 66, helmed by Tollywood director Vamsi Paidipally. The shooting is expected to commence in April and the movie will be released on Diwali 2022 or on Pongal 2023. The industry is now been buzzed up about Thalapathy 67.
The reports say that Atlee and Lokesh Kanagaraj are in the race to direct Thalapathy 67. While Atlee directed Vijay for three hit movies, Lokesh Kanagaraj worked with Vijay in 'Master' and it was a blockbuster success. It has been reported that Kanagaraj has a bright prospect of directing Vijay after Thalapathy 66 while Atlee would work for Thalapathy 68.
Lokesh Kanagaraj had recently wrapped up the shooting of his directorial 'Vikram' starred by Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil, and Vijay Sethupathi. He will start his work for Thalapathy 67 after the release of Vikram and it has been expected that Vijay will announce the director of Thalapathy 67 after the filming of Thalapathy 66. If Lokesh Kanagaraj joins hands with Vijay, it will be the second unification between the duo and Atlee would most probably direct Vijay for Thalapathy 68.
Beast has been in the making and recently the first single 'Arabic Kuthu' of the movie was released. It has garnered a historical reception from across and beyond the borders. Being made as a black comedy and action-packed movie, Beast is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his own banner Sun Pictures and it is helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
While Vijay plays the lead role, Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Shine Tom Chacko, John Vijay, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das, and Sathis Krishnan play the important roles. Anirudh has composed the music while Manoj Paramahamsa and Nirmal had done cinematography and editing respectively.
